Dallas Mavericks have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the NBA for the past two seasons, thanks to the emergence of Luka Doncic as a superstar and the addition of Kristaps Porzingis as his co-star. However, after losing in the first round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year, the Mavericks decided to make some major changes in their front office and coaching staff.
Dallas Mavericks parted ways with longtime general manager Donnie Nelson and head coach Rick Carlisle, who had been with the franchise for 24 and 13 years respectively. They also hired a new president of basketball operations, Nico Harrison, a former Nike executive who has strong relationships with many players in the league. And they replaced Carlisle with Jason Kidd, a Hall of Fame point guard who played for the Mavericks twice in his career and won a championship with them in 2011.
